On my radar... March 2012
Hello!
This month I'm not doing clothes, accessories mostly, but also some other things you've never seen on an On My Radar before, mostly because I just discovered them, lol.
Forever 21:
Studded Crossbody:
Yet another choice for "My Purse." I like how this one is very classic. The cream color would make it compatible with pretty much every outfit, and I like that. That could be a disadvantage too though- I like colorful, bright, statement-making bags.
All in all, I'm liking this one the most.
Miscellaneous:
I've always loved this style of braid, but it looked soo complicated to do, so I never tried it. Well, my friend Tabitha is really good at braiding hair like this, and she was kind enough to teach me how! It's super easy. I do this all the time. It's a great twist on your everyday braid.
Melted Crayon Art:
I must say, this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. It started with someone putting a picture of a creation like this on Pinterest, and now countless people have done it. You can Google "melted crayon art" and find tons of pictures and websites with instructions. The one to the left is one of mine. I've done about 5, haha. :)

Forever 21:
Asymmetrical Zip Hobo:
I'm really into bags lately, and I'm not quite sure why...I know I need one to carry around with me as "my purse," with my wallet, phone, and keys. I like the color of this one, and it looks like it would be good to use when I go shopping. It has a shoulder strap and a cross-body strap, so that's good. I really like this.
Chain Strap Crossbody:
Another possibility for my purse. I like the color on this one too; bold colors are kind of my thing. :) This looks a lot smaller than the blue one, but it has some neat side pockets. I like the chain accents too.
Bull's Eye Floppy Hat- Orange/Natural:
I love this hat! I wasn't even looking for a floppy hat like this,(I didn't even think I'd like a hat like this,) but I have to have it! I'm going to the beach this June and I found a great coverup at Target and this hat totally completes the look. I'm going for the quintessential floppy-hat-with-flowing-cover-dress-thing-and-big-sunglasses-look, and, in my opinion, this nails it.
Floppy hats, who knew?
Polka Dot Oxfords:
Oh my god. I think I may have died. POLKA DOT OXFORDS. There is nothing more perfect on this entire earth.
I love polka dots. And oxfords. These shoes are wonderful. Enough said.
Striped Platform Wedges:
I like wedges too. They're very springy. Black and white stripes are cool. These shoes are funky, but in a good way.

I'm totally obsessed with pendant necklaces right now. I love them. I can see myself wearing this one a lot, it's pretty basic.
Miscellaneous:
Pinterest:
I LOVE THIS! I probably sound like some crazy internet junkie, but this website is so cool. I get tons on outfit, and hair ideas form looking at everything. Fabulous.
HOBBY LOBBY:
HOBBY LOBBY:
We just recently got one of these stores in my town, (Hicktown, USA) and I cannot get enough. I've been there at least 5 times already. They have everything pertaining to arts and crafts a person could ever want, and more--a baking section. Be still my heart.
Fishtail/Herringbone Braids:
I've always loved this style of braid, but it looked soo complicated to do, so I never tried it. Well, my friend Tabitha is really good at braiding hair like this, and she was kind enough to teach me how! It's super easy. I do this all the time. It's a great twist on your everyday braid.

Neon Patent Heel, from Charlotte Russe:
I like neon. :) These look awesome, 'nuff said.

Chicken Enchiladas Recipe!
Everyone loves enchiladas, right? I know my family does. This is a recipe my mom has made us for as long as I can remember, one she got from her friend Beth. It's amazing, and I made it the other night, so I thought I'd show you!
Boil 2-3 boneless chicken breasts. (I did 3, because we like leftovers. :))
Oil. Onions. Herbs. Off to a good start.
Beans, cheese and tomatoes. Even better!
Mush that all up with a potato masher, like so:
And then add the shredded, boiled chicken.
Mix that all together and then stuff the mixture into tortillas. I got about 6 from this recipe, it depends on how much you like to put in one. (To help the tortillas stay shut I made a "glue" with flour and water and just slathered some of that on the outside. It worked pretty well.)
In a separate bowl mix cream, chicken broth and sour cream, then pour over the tortillas, in a pan coated with cooking spray and top with the remaining Monterey Jack cheese:
Cover with foil and bake at 350 for about 40 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for 5-10 more minutes, remove. Let them cool, and serve with some yummy rice.
Voila! Mmm, Mexican food. :) Enjoy!
Beth Roman's Chicken Enchiladas
6-8 flour tortillas
1 can/15 oz. white beans- rinsed, drained
1 can/8 oz. tomato sauce OR petite diced tomatoes
1 can/4 oz. diced green chiles
1 onion
2 cups cooked chicken breast (optional)
8 oz. Monterey Jack cheese, divided
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup sour cream
1 cup chicken stock
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp. salt

On my radar... February 2012
It's time again for "On m Radar!" This time I have a theme... I'm mainly focusing on graphic tees, and colored jeans. I'm in love with that sort of rocker, vintage, vibe right now. It will be obvious when you see what I've picked out. There are some other items, but the majority is what I've mentioned. Starting at the top:
Forever 21: Knitted Beret, in Yellow.
The reason I like this is because it looks so soft, and because this is the closest thing I could find to the beret in the picture of the pretty green dress in in the last On my Radar.
Forever 21: Polka Dot Cutout Back Dress.
I LOVE this. I thinks it's so cute! Black and white polka dots are kind of my thing. I have so many polka dotted things... This would be great to add to my collection. In the back it has this ovular shaped cutout right below the neck, that I think really adds something.
Forever 21: Laser Cut Dress.
This is a fuchsia/hot pink dress with little triangles cut out at the top. It doesn't come with the belt, which is really unfortunate, but I think it's great either way.
Forever 21: Painted Rose Dress
I don't know what it is about this, but I just really like it. I like the fit, the shape, and the color. If you look closer the roses are pale pink with lavender and orange swirls. It looks like they're actually painted on!
Forever 21: Retro Floral Swimsuit
I didn't know where a bathing suit would fit into the lineup here, so this is where it's staying. I'm not normally one to buy one piece bathing suits, (I love my summer tan,) but something about this just caught my attention, and I love it. It's very retro, hence the name, and the colors are fabulous.
And so starts the graphic tee craze!
Audrey Hepburn tee, from Forever 21.
I like this because it's so simple. It just shows Audrey, in black and white in what looks to be a checkered shirt, standing on a porch. I love Audrey Hepburn, she's just so classy, so this is a must have for me.
Forever 21: From New York Tee
I knew I had to have this as soon as I saw it. I sort of have an affinity with New York City. I'm going to move there when I'm out of high school, go to NYU, to become an anesthesiologist and live in New York. This is a cream shirt with a shot of the city enclosed in a gold heart. The words on the side going up the side of the heart read "from New York, with love."
<3
Forever 21: Wild at Heart tee
This is just one of those shirts that I could really see myself wearing a lot. It gives me a great earworm for Gloriana's Wild at Heart. If you haven't heard it go listen. It's pretty great.
I'd never, in a million years, wear that horrendous skirt though. Yuck. Not my style.
Forever 21: Guns N' Roses Tee
It's more like a sweatshirt, really. I grew up with this music. That's why there are so many band tee shirts. My dad loves classic rock, and I do too. So naturally, I had to add these to the list. :)
Led Zeppelin tee, from Forever 21.
I have this picture in my basement! :)
Led Zeppelin... woo!
Love Crop Top, from Forever 21.
Overcome the devils with a thing called love. ~Bob Marley.
The Who? Fringed Top from Forever 21.
Grey/Taupe tee with a blue, red and white bullseye, and fringes on the hem. Pretty self explanatory.
U2 Tee from Forever 21.
Light heather grey, swingy top with U2 in black and white on the front.
My cousin is in love with U2, so I'm pretty sure he'd hug me if he ever saw me wearing this shirt. And, he's 17 so those hugs are elusive.
UPDATE! I found this shirt in the store and got it, and I love it! It's loose and swingy, like the picture shows, and it looks great. Along the bottom of the picture it says "The Joshua Trees." Just thought I'd let you know. :)
Textured Knit Skirt, in Coral from Forever 21.
I have a purple skirt kind of like this, but without the black band, and I love it, so I thought why not get a brighter color for spring? They had yellow, and blue too, but this coral really caught my eye.
Textured Waves Skirt, from Forever 21.
This is very similar to the skirt above, but it's more bright red, and the raised stripes are wavy instead of being straight all the way across.
Fitted Skinny Jean, in Hot Pink, Purple, Red, and Turquoise, from Forever 21.
I adore colored jeans. These fitted skinnies are so cute. They just look so good.
Vibrant Skinny Jeans, in Orange from Forever 21.
The only reason this isn't included in the picture above is because it had a different name. I loved the orange color, so I had to add these.
Polka Dot Mary Jane Platforms, Forever 21.
I looooove me some platforms. And the fact that they are polka dotted makes then even better!
Again, big ol' platforms. :)
Open Toe Platforms, Forever 21.
I like these mainly because they are so large and chunky looking. And red. Red is always good :)
Studded Oxfords, from Forever 21.
You can never go wrong with oxfords. If you don't own any, invest in a great, basic pair. They are staples, in my opinion.
These are no exception! The cream, and silver studs just blend so nicely, and they do lean a leeeetle Western in my eyes, but I think with the right look to go with them, they wouldn't be at all.
I chose this belt mainly because the Laser-Cut dress doesn't come with the belt, but it's always good to have a nice belt around.
Classic Braided Belt, from Forever 21.
I am all about the bracelets. I have about 7 that I wear on my left wrist daily. This would be a welcome addition. I love it! I can totally see myself wearing this with everything.
Bow Bracelet in Black/Silver from Forever 21.
And so ends our next On my Radar. I still haven't heard if it's okay to import pictures so I may not have Outfit of the Day pics for a little bit.
Thanks for reading!

Oh technology... how I loathe thee...
Hey everyone!
I am so sorry I haven't posted in a really long time, but my laptop had been having some problems, and then one night last week it just quit on me all of a sudden. We took it up to Best Buy and consulted one of the lovely people at Geek Squad (<3) and they told me my hard drive was shot. So, I've temporarily lost all of my music, pictures, documents, ect. I had to get a new laptop and it came today :) I will get right back to my regular posting schedule as soon as I know I can safely import pictures again, promise.
Until then!
